The MFRC Family Separation and Reunion Support services offers resources and support to all family members and loved ones of deployed members (both Regular and Reserve Forces) including:
- Warm line calls... a confidential phone service to assist families with staying connected to the base and community services/resources.
- Child care services... Emergency and respite childcare services, casual childcare, a variety of child and youth programs. The MFRC also compiles a list of community childcare providers and teen babysitters. Ask us for information on choosing the right childcare provider for you.
- Family Nights... Designed to encourage understanding of deployment related issues and to introduce CF personnel and families to MFRC services.
- Resource Library... A variety of books, brochures, children's activities books, maps etc all designed to assist your family manage the challenges of separation and reunion.
- Web Links... Information on helpful websites for additional information.
- P arcel service... Free mail service is available to families wishing to send care packages to members who are deployed.
- Free Computer use... If you do not have the Internet at home, you can keep in touch with your loved one by dropping in to the MFRC and using our computer.
- Mission Information Line... A toll free service that provides information and support to families of Canadian military members who are serving in an operational role outside Canada. it is accessible 24 hours a day.
- Video Teleconferencing... VTC is now a popular way for families to stay connected. The MFRC is happy to keep families connected any way we can. Visit the Deployment page for more information.
